It sucks to know that not all black people agree that Black is Radiant, Black is Gold.

For instance, I recently quit my job after one day of work (it’s a long story and I’ll explain it some later day in a later post). Anyway, the worst thing about quitting is that I heard something very unpleasing, disturbing even. My sister (11 years old) told me everything will be okay because I was of the lighter skin tone. I was in disbelief. I was like the heck, what you mean young buck?

So, I asked, “What did that have to do with anything.”

She replied, “I like lighter skin better.”

I said, “I’m not even light skin girl.”

She then said, “You’re lighter than me, and you’re not dark like mommy.”

“First of all mama is not even dark, and there are beautiful dark skin women,” I exclaimed.
