See I wasn’t always this devoted,
It wasn’t until I got promoted.

No, I’m not talking about in my career,
So allow me to make this a bit clearer.

I used to drown in my sorrows,
Thinking that there was no better tomorrow.

See I was lost in the maze of my mind,
I was figuratively stuck in this mental bind.

I thought there was no getting out,
Because my mind was clouded with self-doubt.

People used to tell me,
That I wasn’t worthy.

That I wasn’t fit to be a queen,
That I was only fit to stay behind the scene.

According to the world, my life had no meaning,
According to the world, I had no reason to continue breathing.

See I chose to be different because when I looked in the mirror I saw a perfect creation.
I saw how God created me to be a beautiful nation.

One who does not bow down to to the principalities of this world,
But instead, one who consistently abides in His Word.

To God, I give the glory,
Because He alone showed me I am worthy.
