For My Sister

I’ve cried so many tears,

And it’s been so many years.

I haven’t heard your voice,

It’s like I’ve been under a curse.

A bit like sleeping beauty,

Yet a prince hasn’t arrived to do is duty.

Or maybe I just haven’t been believing,

Because the things of this world stay deceiving.

When will the tears end,

This feeling of uselessness makes me cringe.

Lord God I am tired,

And this need within me is becoming so dire.

Take this curse away,

Because I want to start anew today.

Nor more dwelling in my sorrows,

I will have a better tomorrow.

Where I am weak I am made strong,

Cause you have been with me for so long.

Just like sleeping beauty,

My Prince arrived and did His duty.

He was and still is a prince of peace,

And this next line doesn’t rhyme but my tears are gone.

I have joy in my heart,

And this is only just the start.

See my happiness will never end,

Because my heart and soul have been cleansed.

All I can say is thank you Jesus,

It is in you that I put my trust.
